The Runaway Brewery brew flavour focussed, modern british beers which are keg and bottle conditioned. We've been brewing in our little railway arch in Manchester City Centre since 2014. We now send our beer all over the UK (and occasionaly further afield).
The brewery is located on the edge of Manchester City Centre, close to the Northern Quarter, approximately 5 minutes walk from Victoria Station and Shudehill Interchange (bus and tram).
We've recently built overselves a new tap room on a mezzanine overlooking the brewery, and we're now offering tours every Saturday for anyone interested in learning more about what we do and how our beer is made.
Our brewery tours are limited to 20 people per session and tickets can be booked in advance through eventbrite.
Our tours are always led by a member of our brewing team and last approx 60-90min. We’ll guide you through a tasting of four of our beers and show you around the brewery. You’ll see how the beer’s made, try some malt, smell some hops, drink some beer from the tank (if available), and find out all you need to know about The Runaway Brewery and how we make our beer.
Our tap room is open from 12:00 until 20:00 every Saturday, so feel free to hang around for a beer or two afterwards. We also sell bottles to take away.
Come and have a look around our little piece of beery heaven.
A couple of things to bear in mind when planning your visit…
Location, Brewery Environment and Accessibilty
Our brewery is located in an industrial unit, within a small industrial area, and is primarily a production facility. As such there's lots of brewing equipment, chemicals, wet floors and hot surfaces — think of it as a factory — so please respect that during your visit and come appropriately dressed (e.g. avoid high heels and open toe shoes/sandals) if you wish to visit the brewhouse as part of your trip. The brewery building is not heated (for the benefit of beer production) so may be a little chilly at cooler times of the year.
Facilities on site usually only cater for our small staff and are fairly basic. We have 2 x WCs on site with hand wash facilities & no disabled toilet is available — sorry.
Our tap room bar is situated on a mezzanine level over looking the brewery, which can only be accessed via stairs. However, we have a seating area on the ground floor, which has level access, and will endeavor to accomodate all visitors as best we can.
The brewery itself is also situated over different levels with stepped access, though there is level access to both parts of the brewery from either end of the railway arch. There are areas of uneven floors within the brewery.
As a rule, small children and animals will not be allowed in the brewery. Please contact us in advance to discuss requirements.
Please advise of any special requirements prior to your visit and we'll do our best to assist you.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must be 18 or over. We operate a challenge 25 policy, so if you're lucky enough to look younger than that, please be aware that you may be asked for ID.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is no parking at the brewery. But who needs a car when youre coming to a brewery anyway? The brewery is only 5 minutes walk from Victoria Station and Shudehill Interchange (bus and tram). Our near neighbours Popup Bikes are located at Arch 4 on Corporation Street and provide secure bike parking on Saturdays (closed Sunday). We also have limited space for bike parking in the yard at the brewery.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
If you have any questions, please contact us through Eventbrite or contact the brewery direct through our website
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Please contact us if you wish to change the time/date of your tour. This is usually only possible if there is space on another tour.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please bring either a printed ticket, or digital equivalent.
What is the refund policy?
If it's more than 24 hours before the tour then we can refund. If not, then we wont be able to — sorry.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
