SAME BUT DIFFERENT PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS BY CLARE ALLAN AND JOHN E WALTER
Clare and John met at art college over 30 years ago and have been friends ever since. While their work differs in many ways, similar themes run throughout. Clare creates landscapes in charcoal, chalk and acrylic, layering colour over black and white drawings. Her work often combines several viewpoints to represent a whole place. John produces innovative paintings on transparent acrylic sheet. His work conveys his ongoing interest in light, geometry and numbers through layers of acrylic colour and pencil line.
