A very special We Shall Overcome Festival weekend raising funds for Greystones Homeless Project here in Ashton. We asked Lisa and Scott what would they love to be able to offer the homeless lads who depend on Greystones to help them to turn their lives around — and the answer was a respite trip out to give them a break. Many of these lads have never seen the seaside — they are of all ages from their twenties right through to people who are pensioners — and they are all trying to rebuild their lives and get on their feet.
So this year Stationisphere is a special We Shall Overcome event to make that break a reality and we are aiming to take them for a day trip to Blackpool to walk on the beach and see the sea, then drive down the lights......something most of us will have done and remember fondly from childhood — something many of these guys never had the chance to do…
