Scalpel is proud to present the inaugural Introduction to Systems Exams event.
The event will take place on the 12th of October in Stopford Building as from 6.30PM.
The introduction to systems exams is open to all students of all years but is mainly aimed at 3rd years who are beginning their clinical placements and will soon be expected to perform examinations in bedside teaching sessions. We will aim to teach you the following examinations:
1) Cardiovascular Examination — this session will aim to teach you the cardiovascular examination (hands, face and chest exam).
2) Respiration Examination — this session will aim to teach you the respiratory examination (hands, face and chest exam) along with common sounds that you might hear in a typical respiratory examination.
3) Abdomen Examination — this session will aim to teach you the abdominal examination (hands, face and abdomen exam).
4) Peripheral Neuro Examination — this exam is a fairly new one that has been introduced to the previous batch of 3rd Years. We will run over an Upper and Lower Limb Neuro exam and give you an idea of what you might be expected to do.
You will have the opportunity to practice these examinations on some volunteers.
Please bring along your stethoscope.
This is a FREE event but you will have to register via the following EventBrite link. We only have 40 spots available — first come, first serve!
You will also be able to purchase our lifetime membership on the door for £5 — free entry to all our lectures and discounted tickets to our future events.
If you require any additional information, please feel free to send us a message on Facebook or email us at [email protected]
As always, certificates of attendance will be provided.
We look forward to seeing you there,
The Scalpel Committee
