Bharatanatyam is an Indian classical dance that originated in the Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu, and comprises spectacular footwork teamed with mudrās (hand gestures) and abhinayā (facial expressions). Defined gestures can be an effective tool by which we can tell stories, and here we explore the narrative aspects of this graceful art form as the artist leads this dynamic session blending gestural storytelling and movement.
Presented by Equilibrium Arts.
New North and South

The New North and South network, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme, will bring prominence to the work of leading Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan and UK artists and include new artistic commissions, exhibitions and performances in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool and in Colombo, Dhaka, Lahore, Karachi and Kochi.
