Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. In anticipation of a day filled with love, we are going to talk about symbols of love at Manchester Museum. We will have a closer look at some objects from nature that can be associated with love — from love flower and love seeds to love birds and heart-shaped sea creatures. Maybe you will get inspiration for gift ideas for your beloved!
Find out some more about our Museum Love Symbols in Fang's blog post — “Valentine’s Day – All About Love” storiesfromthemuseumfloor.wordpress.com/2017/02/10/valentines-day-all-about-love/
Collection Bites are half an hour talks hosted by our Visitor Team every other Monday. Our Visitor Team are on the museum floor with our collections every day so are perfectly placed to give bite-sized introductions to our collection — with a bit of a contemporary twist.
Have a look at some of the stories so far on the Visitor Team blog: storiesfromthemuseumfloor.wordpress.com/
Collection Bites take place in the Collections Study Centre on the 3rd floor, and are free to attend. There is no need to book, just meet at reception 10 minutes before the start of the talk.
