The Urban Jazz Guerrillas is Graham Young’s jazz fusion quartet. Originally growing out of a jam band over time the line up was stabilised and Graham’s compositional skills brought to bear. This in turn attracted players of an increasingly high calibre. The UJG gigged heavily between 2005 and 2012 and two CD’s were produced. During this time they became regulars on the Yorkshire Jazz Scene. Live performances were characterised by deep, heavy grooves and heavier improvisation satisfying both the desire to dance and the need for intellectual stimulation simultaneously.
