Test Card are teaming up with Modul Projects for the final showcase in the Push:Music artistic residency and event series. The project brings together three groups of diverse electronic musicians and sound artists to develop new collaborative work — each exploring their own distinct identity within the landscape of contemporary electronic music.

Test Card founder Sean Clarke will be creating live-generated visuals in response to the night’s sounds.

If you can't make it down to this event, don't worry — we'll be going live on Reform Radio.

CHAOS LOL / FOREST LLOYD / ICEBOY VIOLET / SGNL

MC’s bars contorted into abstract patterns across a squall of mashed up manga samples and busted grime riddims before giving way to weightless hyperreal ambience. The first group to undertake the residency deftly navigated the intersections of UK Bass music, Footwork and Plunderphonics in their first outing and promise to extend, elaborate, and push, one year on.

DOBBIN / DUJAT / RUFFONI / SUVISTE / TAYLOR

With a slew of hardware at their disposal, the second group fuse approaches spanning electroacoustic composition, modular synthesis and computer music, casting the listener into an intricate, shape-shifting sound world, traversing delicate found-sound assemblages into throbbing dancefloor abstractions. The crew really found their own voice working on this project, ripping Texture to shreds in the process.

SARAH BATES / JOE BEEDLES / JOAQUIN CORNEJO / GLEN CUTWERK / BILLY FRANCIS / GEORGE JAVIER WALLIS

Soft-focus arpeggios seamlessly interweave with processed vocals and washed-out drum machines, creating constantly evolving New Age excursions, each one punctuated by indeterminate stabs of digital noise and mutated foley sounds. Following their debut performance on Reform Radio, this will be the first time this material has been taken to the club. The interplay between mesmerising melodic patterns and oddball sound design really is something special, get down early for this one — not to be missed.

PUSH:MUSIC DJs

Resident B2Bs throughout the night, including boygirl’s signature selection of pop destructo mashups and cute grime.

Push:Music is delivered in partnership with Brighter Sound, Band on the Wall, Texture MCR and Reform Radio, with support from Arts Council England.
