Their first album 'At 4000 meters' released in 2001 received great response and reviews (Dead Frog Records/Misty Music). The follow up second album 'Everest' was released in October 2017 on vinyl LP (Open Mind Records/Border Music) and on all digital platforms such as iTunes and Spotify
THE SPEED OF SOUND
Power Pop, No Wave, Art Rock, New Wave — The Speed Of Sound create atmospheric alternative rock; taking influences from across the last fifty years of recorded music and making it into something new. They have been colliding the 1960’s with The Now since 1989, producing hard edged music with optimism and lyrical bite. Completely independent, no external label, no corporate backing, The Speed Of Sound make real music for real people. Their most recent album 'Everything Changes' was released in 2016 to tremendous critical acclaim including a rave review from Mick Middles in Sounds Magazine.
Art Rock, Post-Punk, Cabaret, Alternative, Gothic, New Wave — Combining a wide range of influences, Weimar's music covers an eclectic range of styles from post-punk to cabaret, chanson, torch songs and experimental rock. With an aesthetic and outlook inspired by the German Weimar Republic of the 1920s renowned for its artistic boom and decadence, their tunes are carried by lyrics fascinated by the murkier and seamier sides of culture and history and the need for retaliation and expression in the face of oppression.
