Starting Tuesday 13th March at 7:30pm — 8:30pm will be a 10 week run of Yoga Classes for the Levenshulme and local communities, ending on Tuesday 15th May.
The first few weeks of classes will start with the very basics of Yoga Practice — breathing. If you can Breathe you can partake in this class — no need to worry about stiffness or inflexibility. We will work through principles of conscious breathing and how you can use this to calm & focus your mind, stimulate your lymphatic nervous system (your blood, your organs), improve strength, tone and posture in your body.
Once we have this nailed, we will incorporate gentle movement, stretches and basic Yoga postures — working towards building a yoga sequence that we can practice in flow, a routine of movement through breath.
The pace of the class will be accessible to all, my teaching style is fun, playful and informal — I encourage you to question, make adaptations to suit your body — if you don't know, I will help you find one! I incorporate a few styles of yoga — Hatha / Yin / Ashtanga Vinyasa — with these influences I have adapted my teaching style to a gentle pace, but one that still works to challenge you in a positive way.
Yoga is a great tool to get to know yourself and your body. Practicing these physical and mindful techniques will improve your overall health, mentally and physically, improve strength and flexibility. It's great to get together as a group whilst giving time to yourself — an oxymoron but truth!
Wear comfortable clothes to move, bring water and something warm for relaxation at the end — a jumper / blanket / socks. I will have some mats to use, but you may wish to invest in your own.
