A CONFERENCE on caring for nursing home residents at the end of life is being held by the hospice in April.
The free conference is aimed at GPs, district nurses, social workers and nursing home staff who provide care for nursing home residents.
The conference will be led by our Hospice In Your Care Home team which delivers education and training in end of life care to staff in 11 nursing homes across the Borough.
Speakers include Dr David Jolley from Willow Wood Hospice who will discuss caring for residents with dementia at the end of life and Stuart Parsons from Wigan Family Welfare who will deliver a presentation on the law around capacity and consent.
Hospice In Your Care Home provide a regular presence in nursing homes working closely with nursing home staff to equip them with the practical skills and knowledge needed to provide sensitive, timely and compassionate end of life care.
