If you care for a child or young person with autism and severe learning difficulties, you are eligible for a comprehensive range of support from Seashell Trust.
This is one of several sessions aimed at helping families deal with everyday issues like mealtimes, communication, behaviour and looking for ways to help your child become more independent.
The world can be a scary place for autistic children, and problems processing sensory information are common. When you're surrounded by noise, or you can't cope with how some clothes feel against your skin, or you have to rock or spin to get some sensory input, even everyday situations can become difficult.
In this session, one of Seashell Trust's occupational therapists Rachel Johnson will talk about some of the ways we can help children and young people learn strategies to manage their sensory needs, introducing ideas and equipment that can be used at home.
The speaker may be recorded to share with families who are unable to attend. If you do not wish to be filmed, please sit behind the camera.
