Pieter Tritton aka 'Posh Pete' as recently seen on Vice, survived nearly a decade in the gang infested, corrupt and incredibly dangerous Ecuadorian prison system.

Arrested in a hotel suite in the capital, Quito, along with his girlfriend at the time in August 2005 following a tip off from a Colombian police informant. Discovered in the room was a camping tent — You might think this is nothing out of the ordinary but on this occasion the rubber ground sheet was actually impregnated with nearly 8 kilograms of pure cocaine with a street value in the UK of nearly £250,000. So came to an end, what the judge in Britain later described as, «an ingenious plan», the cocaine importation operation masterminded by Pieter.

This evenings talk will describe in detail how Pieter became caught up in the multi billion pound cocaine trade from his early days dealing to fellow students at Cardiff University to ending up controlling the drugs trade on two wings in an Ecuadorian prison working with the local gangs. Surviving gun battles and hand grenade attacks, Tuberculosis, witnessed multiple murders, almost daily torture or maltreatment. This is an unbelievable story of survival against the odds.

Pieter has since written a book called 'El Infierno' published by Ebury, Penguin. He featured in an episode of 'Banged up Abroad' on National Geographic and has appeared in a series of shorts for Vice on Line. He is currently working on various projects including the prequel to 'El Infierno', a chocolate business and coffee importation to name a few. Come and meet Pieter and let him guide you through a crazy story. It's not for the faint hearted and will leave you moved.
