Meditation has the ability to transform our lives.
There are many things that are out of our control but it is possible for us to take responsibility for our own mind and lead a more content life.
Meditation is an approach of transforming the mind by bringing awareness to the present moment and observing one’s own mind. This awareness allows us to learn the patterns and habits of our mind; encourages clarity and emotional well-being and with consistent and focused practice, offers a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being.
The course will cover:
— What meditation is and isn't, how its been used a spiritual practice for centuries and the latest scientific research to show that meditation can improve one's health and balance in life;
— Learning how to stop and be still;
— Dealing with the wandering mind;
— The link between the mind, body and breath;
— Tips on posture, attitude, developing and maintaining a regular practice;
— An introduction into four types of meditation techniques and finding the ideal practice for you;
— Q&A time, in a group setting and privately;
— Guided meditations for student's to use at home so full support is provided in and out of classes
WK1 — Introduction to meditation & awareness of breath meditation
WK2 — Metta Bhavana (loving kindness) meditation
WK3 — Body scan (yoga nidra) meditation
WK4 — Mindfulness (open monitoring) meditation
Our teacher — Soraya has practised meditation for just under a decade and knows first-hand the life transforming affect it can have on the mind as a way of gaining clarity as well as emotional positivity. She is passionate about supporting others in encouraging more positive ways of being and welcomes meditators of all levels to the course.
